Collection: Dix Sourdough Gluten Free
In addition to our wheat flour-based sourdough, we also have a gluten-free variant.
Our gluten-free sourdough is based on Sorghum flour.
Sorghum is a very old grain and has been used and cultivated for thousands of years in large parts of Africa, China and India. Furthermore, Sorghum is very healthy and nutritious! It is rich in protein and also contains a lot of fiber, unlike many other gluten-free flours that contain little fiber.
Because Sorghum not only contains a lot of fiber but also has a nice neutral taste, we work with Sorghum for our gluten-free sourdough. This sourdough is also over 20 years old and therefore very strong!
How to order gluten free?
Living with a gluten intolerance is bad enough. That's why we don't make a distinction in our packages and you can simply choose a "normal" package and check the "gluten-free" option. You will then receive a sourdough based on sorghum flour and a white or brown gluten-free Dix Mix which, in addition to the different types of flour, also contains psyllium fibres that ensure a nice result.
